Leave me alone I want a beer.

As a beer drinking man of the world I feel continually persecuted by the government and doctors who feel that it is in my best interests to charge over-inflated prices for my beer.
The world has changed. My world of pubs and ENJOYMENT doesn't seem to exist anymore. It has been replaced by a world where work and the economy is more important. A world where drinking beer and watching television somehow takes second place.
The government and doctors have now decided that I am not allowed to keel over and die clutching my last bottle before I reach my three score years and ten. I must live to a be a hundred and survive on carefully controlled quantities of alcohol.
I know that this is not the kind of thing to write at 7.30 in the morning, but something needs to be said. We must all declare war on the government and doctors in order to keep our freedom of drink.

    And yet people can pollute the entrances and exits of public venues with cigarette smoke while my wife and I with our child have to walk through it.

    Nice world we live in, eh? Only thing that matters is which industries fund politicians' campaigns...

    Frugal--In your new state people are not allowed to smoke within 25 feet of any entrance, openable window, or intake vent of any business. It is illegal. If you are walking through it by entryways or exits they are breaking the law. Read up on it and know your rights.

    If a business is allowing smokers to break the law like that, and you inform them, and they don't ask them to disperse, they can be reported to the health department. Enough complaints and they will get fined. If they get fined enough they will enforce it. Or vote with your feet and go elsewhere, to a place that does keep smokers away from their front doors.

    Wow, I didn't know that the doctors were charging more for beer... your local clinic is apparently MUCH more full-service than mine is! Wink I know that the increase in cost of tobacco products (supposedly to pay for the additional health care costs of smokers) leads to very little smoking cessation... people just buy cheaper cigarettes. I fear that it offers very little in the way of insurance that people will significantly change their behaviors.
